Jim Beam to shout Australia a drink

Jim Beam has announced it's shouting Aussies a drink on December 14 to launch its inaugural ‘Mate of a Mate’s Day’.

The whiskey giant will be offering free Jim Beam and Colas or Jim Beam Highballs at 35 venues nationwide, encouraging Australians to come together and celebrate "treating each other right".

From 4pm to 7pm - while stocks last - on Friday, December 14, Jim Beam is raising a toast to "mates new and old, recognising those people who always have your back, who will stand up for you no matter what. Whether they’re a mate, a mate of a mate, or a potential new mate waiting at the bar."

According to Jim Beam, Mate of a Mate’s Day is about the two things that matter the most to the brand – “how to treat a person and how to make a good whiskey”.

“Jim Beam stands for togetherness, respect, unity and acceptance and Mate of a Mate’s Day allows us to recognise and celebrate those people who share the same values as us,” said Trent Chapman, Marketing Director Oceania at Beam Suntory.

“‘Come as a friend, leave as family’ are the words emblazoned on the walls of our distillery in the US, but the motto very much rings true to the Aussie culture.”
