Amazing photos: Bombay Sapphire launches Gin Garden at NGV Gala

The launch of the first Melbourne Bombay Sapphire Gin Garden was held over the weekend at the prestigious NGV Gala.

Attended by over 1200 guests including Natalie Portman, Troye Sivane and Poppy Delevigne, the event celebrated the opening of the world-exclusive exhibition Escher X nendo I Between Two Worlds.

Kicking off at NGV Gala, the Bombay Sapphire Gin Garden experience will run throughout summer as part of the NGV Friday Nights, starting Friday, December 7.

Transforming the iconic NGV Garden Restaurant into an innovative, sensory and immersive space, the Bombay Sapphire Gin Garden draws on the visual themes in the works of both nendo and M. C. Escher and those intrinsic to Bombay Sapphire, with the reflection and refraction of light a central theme for the space.

The launch of the Bombay Sapphire Gin Garden at NGV Gala saw bartenders mix and serve more than 3500 Bombay Sapphire cocktails to guests throughout the evening, while internationally acclaimed Australian chef and restaurateur, Andrew McConnell, dished up a bespoke prawn version of his iconic lobster roll exclusively to guests in the space.

VIPs in attendance included: Olympia Valance, Mavournee Hazel, The Hon. Daniel Andrews MP, Julie Bishop and Lydia Schiavello.

Ending the weekend in style, Bombay Sapphire hosted 65 VIPs at an exclusive and immersive lunch on Sunday to further celebrate the partnership with NGV.

Melburnians and visitors to the city can experience the sensory wonder of the Bombay Sapphire Gin Garden at NGV Friday Nights until Friday, April 5.

Set against the stunning backdrop of the NGV Garden, this open-air bar will offer guests a selection of Bombay Sapphire cocktails, alongside DJs delivering a selection of summer tunes and after hours access to Escher X nendo I Between Two Worlds.
