The U.G.L.Y side of Busselton

Stilts Bar and Restaurant in Busselton is excited to be part of the Leukaemia Foundation’s U.G.L.Y. Bartender of the Year Competition.

The biggest fundraiser in the Australian hospitality industry is now celebrating its 10th birthday, with 1500 venues across the nation taking part in the event.

U.G.L.Y. stands for Understanding, Generous, Likeable, You and aims to bring communities together through inspiring fun and quirky fundraisers, with dollars raised directly supporting the Leukaemia Foundation’s accommodation services.

This year will mark Stilts Bar and Restaurant’s fifth year participating, and will be Jemma Berryman’s first participation in the U.G.L.Y. Bartender campaign. She has a secret target goal … shhhhhhhh! But she has already banked $600!

Jemma still has a few more activities up on her sleeve to spike the interest of her customers, including a quiz night, weekly raffles, U.G.L.Y. cocktails and a Melbourne Cup Luncheon.

“I have a family member who has blood cancer and I am aware of the support and services that are provided by the Leukaemia Foundation,” Jemma said.

“Participating in the competition is my way to say thank you and to show my appreciation to everything the foundation has done for my family member.”
