Halewood Wines & Spirits, the UK based producers of artisanal spirits and craft beers, has announced the establishment of Halewood Wines & Spirits Australia.

Halewood’s recent UK success with Whitley Neill, has allowed the company to continue to expand into other markets and invest and build its portfolio of brands in Australia.

At the same time, Halewood has taken a majority stake in the Ironbark Distillery in NSW with plans to triple the production capacity of gin, rum, and whisky.

Ironbark is an award-winning distillery that has won Double Silver and Double Bronze at San Francisco World Spirit Awards and was named Australian Gin Distillery Of The Year 2015 at the Melbourne International Spirits Competition.

Ironbark will enjoy increased Australian investment and will be distributed by Halewood subsidiaries firstly in the UK, US, and China.

The Sydney based subsidiary will put gin at the heart of its strategy.

Reg Papps, Master Distiller and Director of Ironbark said: “When you create a brand you always dream that it will be carried on for generations, to have a business partner like Halewood Australia behind Ironbark, gives us the opportunity to see the brand grow to its full potential, and be carried forward for many generations”.

The Halewood Wine and Spirits portfolio will continue to be managed by Bouchon, with the distribution arrangement in place until the mid 2019.

Halewood International CEO Stewart Hainsworth added: “Ironbark’s reputation for excellent quality fits with Halewood’s dedication to providing consumers with an artisanal experience. This investment represents the next step in Halewood’s International plan to focus on key spirit markets.”
