Walsh Whiskey Distillery has announced Spirits Platform as the exclusive distributor for its award-winning Writers’ Tears whiskey across Australia. This is in addition to Spirits Platform’s exclusive distribution rights to the distillery’s Irishman whiskey range in Australia, obtained mid last year. 

This agreement now consolidates the full Walsh Whiskey Distillery portfolio in Australia with Spirits Platform. 

Walsh Whiskey Distillery Managing Director Bernard Walsh said, “Since launching The Irishman range last year, Spirits Platform has shown great passion and ambition to grow our presence in the Australian market and we look forward to them sharing that same vision for our Writers’ Tears expressions over the coming years.” 

Spirits Platform CEO Ian Atherton added, “With the renewed interest in premium Irish whiskey in the market, the contemporary style of Writers’ Tears is a fantastic complement to our growing premium whisky portfolio and supports the work we are currently doing with The Irishman whiskey.” 

The distribution agreement for Writers’ Tears took affect on February 1, 2017.
