Following the announcement on Wednesday that the JCI/Proximo portfolio will transition to island2island Beverage Company (i2i), Think Spirits founder and Managing Director Patrick Borg made comment, speaking of the news as well as the work his team has done in getting the brands, in particular Kraken Rum, to the position they are in today.

“We have been very fortunate and have been very proud to have represented the Jose Cuervo International portfolio since the beginning of 2012. We are particularly proud of what we achieved with the Kraken brand since we launched just under four years ago, which has now become one of the fastest growing spirits in the country. I would personally like to thank the entire Think Spirits team for their passion and dedication.

“We will transition the Jose Cuervo International portfolio as of October 8 in excellent shape, and sincerely wish both JCI and i2i every success in building on the great work Think Spirits have done with the brands."

Think Spirits will however continue to distribute Matusalem Rum in Australia – a brand Think Spirits has built and nurtured in Australia since 2009.
