More than 200 Oscar-nominated filmmakers and actors have gathered at the annual Oscar Nominees Luncheon event to mingle, dine and drink champagne.

Lady Gaga, Bradley Cooper, Amy Adams, and Spike Lee were among the big names in the room for the annual event, one of a series that will serve Piper-Heidsieck as part of its sponsorship of the 2019 Academy Awards.

Nominees and invited guests dined on pan roasted salmon, roasted parsnip purée, white and green asparagus, crispy leeks, blistered tomatoes and confit pearl onions. Wines on the menu were Loveblock Sauvignon Blanc, La Crema Pinot Noir and Piper-Heidsieck Brut Champagne. 

Piper-Heidsieck is the sole Champagne being served at official events during the 91st Oscars awards season.

As in previous years, the Piper-Heidsieck limited-edition magnum is custom made for the Oscars and features the House’s signature Cuvée Brut and will be poured exclusively at the awards ceremony and Governors Ball, the Academy’s official Oscars after-party. In addition to the awards ceremony on February 24, Piper-Heidsieck champagne will be poured at Academy events in Los Angeles, New York and London.

The house has long supported cinema, dating back to 1933, when a bottle of Piper-Heidsieck appeared in Sons of the Desert, the debut film of Laurel and Hardy. In 1964, Piper-Heidsieck celebrated Rex Harrison’s Oscar for his role in My Fair Lady with a tailor-made 48-liter bottle that was literally as tall as the 5-foot-10 actor.

An Academy spokesperson confirmed on Monday that there will be no host for this year’s Oscars ceremony, following Kevin Hart stepped down from the role.

The Academy also announced its first round of Oscar presenters, including Daniel Craig, Jennifer Lopez, Tina Fey, Whoopi Goldberg, and Tessa Thompson.
