How being U.G.L.Y helps in hard times

Bartender Jenny at Lagozzino’s Top Pub in Tatura, Victoria is delighted to be part of Leukaemia Foundation’s U.G.L.Y. Bartender of the Year Competition.

“I had blood cancer and I am fully aware the struggles that people go through,” she said.

“If I can help ease people’s burden by raising money and awareness of this terrible disease… I will do it in a heartbeat!”

Jenny is hosting a number of fun events right up until the end of the competition to ensure she can reach her high goals for the campaign. From trivia nights and family fun days to blue desserts and a good old meat tray raffle, Jenny is well on her way to achieving her goal.

Passionate bartenders just like Jenny are a true representation of what U.G.L.Y. stands for – Understanding, Generous, Likeable, You.

The U.G.L.Y. Bartender of the Year Competition is the Leukaemia Foundation’s annual fundraiser for the hospitality industry. Every $80 raised provides one night’s accommodation closed to treatment facilities for people with blood cancer.

This year is a milestone year for U.G.L.Y. as it celebrates its tenth year birthday with 1500 venues participating in the campaign making it the largest fundraiser in the Australian hospitality industry.
