Aussie company revolutionises post-mix systems

Fed up with poor quality pre and post mix carbonated systems,The Soda Press Co has created a high quality range of syrups and Australia’s first organic post mix system.

Pre and most mix systems have grown in popularity over the last few years – set-up costs have plummeted, while the functionality and customisation options of these systems have increased, making them suitable for most cafes, restaurants and bars.

Despite the flexibility, The Soda Press Co’s Cameron Romeril says most in-house systems are only being utilised for chilled carbonated water as post mix options for soda continue to offer high sugar, poor quality syrup or mixer options.
“It’s so frustrating to see an industry that is monopolised by the big players who, in our eyes, and many consumer’s minds, offer poor quality options,” he said. “There’s very limited flavour options, and most are high in sugar and preservatives. Discerning consumers deserve the right to a premium, organic mixer and the choice to have their premium spirit paired with a high-quality soda.”
The Soda Press Co offer customised solutions for venues looking to increase their offering to customers. From the 4L and 10L bulk organic syrups which can be easily mixed with in house carbonation systems (or used with SodaStream), to their more recent partnership with Vestal & Zip offering Australia’s first organic post mix system.
“The average profit for foodservice operators is $4 per serve, but with our organic syrups costing just 50c per serve, the revenue increase can be up to 400% when swapping out the bulky pre-made soda bottles that many venues use,” said Romeril. “On top of that, you’re able to offer your consumer a better product and reduce waste.”
Not only is The Soda Press Co offering a premium, cost-effective solution for businesses, but the reduction of bulky plastic bottles stores up fridge space, reduces the need for recycling storage and cuts the environmental impact from the use of plastic bottles, which make up 50% of landfill and 60% of ocean pollution being plastic bottles.
All Soda Press Co products are certified organic, gluten free, Australian made and additive free with no GMOs. Their supply chain is 100% traceable, which means they know exactly what goes into every bottle and where it came from. Every 500ml bottle of Soda Press Co sold saves up to 10 bottles from our landfills and waterways and reduces carbon emissions.

Feedback from bars has been positive. Dan Sofo, owner of Firefly Bar & Dining, in Neutral Bay NSW, said: “We made the switch from conventional softs to The Soda Press Co for numerous reasons, principally reduction in packaging & waste, lower sugar content (and we) like to support local/Aussie business.”

Meanwhile, Matthew Carnell, owner/Operator of Plum Tucker, in Red Hill Queensland, said: “We chose Soda Press Co products as we share similar views and style. We use Purezza soda system, with a water softener and filter. We certainly see repeat business from like minded consumers as a result. We weren’t expecting how far the 4L casks stretch. We have Soda Press Co on our menu and are currently working on cocktails to include on our alcohol menu.”
