TWE raises a glass to its inaugural Seppelt Wines Stakes Day

Tomorrow marks the inaugural Seppelt Wines Stakes Day, the cornerstone of Seppelt’s first year elevated to Major Partner of the Melbourne Cup Carnival and Victoria Racing Club.

Seppelt has enjoyed a presence across the Carnival in Flemington’s exclusive Birdcage Enclosure and has activated a prosecco bar in VRC hot spot, The Park.

The winemaker is one of the VRC’s longest commercial partners, marking a 40-year anniversary with the racing club this year.

The rich history between the VRC and Seppelt Wines dates back to 1978 when Flemington first hosted the Seppelt-sponsored Great Western Stakes on Melbourne Cup Day.

More recently, Seppelt has been associated with races such as the 2017 Seppelt Turnbull Stakes won by Australia’s champion racehorse Winx.

Treasury Wine Estates Deputy Chief Marketing Officer, Angus Lilley said: “Spring is a special time of year for us at Seppelt, and also one of our busiest periods as celebrations ramp up across the country.

“Throughout the Melbourne Cup Carnival, almost half a million glasses of Seppelt sparkling wine are enjoyed, and we are so thrilled to be part of the celebrations at Flemington as Major Partner of the Melbourne Cup Carnival and Victoria Racing Club.”

Seppelt launched an integrated campaign in time for sparkling season and the Spring Racing Carnival with ATL including out of home, digital and instore; supported by an extensive PR and social campaign centered around model Rebecca Harding, who is Seppelt’s 2018 Spring Racing Ambassador.
